Read More Read more about Progress, albeit nonlinear in nature. This special collection will include topics related to the development of novel methods for reconstructing phylogenetic networks from different mathematical, statistical and computational approaches that highlight the challenges of network reconstruction and the needs of contemporary genomic data. In addition, the collection will broadcast diverse applications of phylogenetic networks on a wide variety of organisms across the Tree of Life. Submissions will ideally be received by the end of August 2022 for publication in the April 2023 issue of the Bulletin.

Luca Pozzi and AnahĂ EspĂndola from the SSB DEI committee are inviting submissions (original research, reviews, case studies, methodological papers) to a special collection on the topic of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in evolutionary biology and systematics.

Andrea Quattrini and Bryan Carstens are inviting contributions to a special collection on species delimitation. This special collection will include papers focused on delimiting species using discovery and/or validation approaches in any taxonomic group, or exploration of the methodology used in such studies. Submissions will ideally be received by the end of April 2022 for publication in the December 2022 issue of the Bulletin.
Read More Read more about Species Delimitation Special CollectionThe Bulletin of the Society of Systematic Biologists will publish manuscripts that advance our understanding of the Earth's biodiversity, with a special focus on investigations that describe how species are related (i.e., phylogeny), identified (i.e., species delimitation or taxonomic practice) or have evolved (e.g., phylogeography, biogeography, or phylogenetic comparative methods). BSSB will also publish manuscripts that advance the theory or methods used in data analysis. Manuscripts will be evaluated on two criteria: the quality of the science and their contribution to our collective understanding of the focal species or clade. BSSB aims to publish investigations that utilize state of the art data analyses and high-quality data sets to achieve these goals.
